Update

Q's surgery went well, the doc said the hernia was quite large! (just like I thought...and that's why we thought there were two...!!) However, little Q didn't react so well to the anesthesia and would not fully wake up. He quit breathing twice on the nurses during recovery and scared everyone. When we finally got to see him, we held him and tickled him and tried to wake him up for a couple of hours, but to no avail. It was awful to see him laying there hooked up to all sorts of things and see the worry in the nurses eyes as we all tried to wake him and panic settled in. He was still on oxygen and couldn't breathe without it...so they finally decided to watch him overnight. So, it was back to another hospital room! Anyway, he did wake up about 12 hours after the surgery and looked at us and smiled and ate a few ounces and then went back to sleep. (what a relief!) He is now off the oxygen and we're hoping they will let him go this morning. I have been on so many rides of emotion the last couple of months...and this one was no different....scared, horrified, sad, upset, peace that all would be well, hope, and then relief when those big blue eyes finally focused on mine and those dimpled little cheeks turned into a huge grin....awwww...he was back!

And check out this fun room we were in!!

  3. Sorry I missed you. I tried to come visit but when I walked up to the doorway of his room I saw him laying on the bed and a nurse assessing him. I didn't see you or landon anywhere so I left. I didn't dare walk in incase it wasn't really little Squire. I hope from this point on, all goes well for you and your beautiful family.

Hudson had to have a very large hernia repaired when he was 2 months old and had a similar reaction to the anesthesia. What a horrible, helpless, scary time! Those boys...they like to make Mama worry! ;c)
