Between a Rock and a Hard Spot

The other night I was super tired and could have fallen asleep sitting up, but of course, by the time I got my pajamas on and brushed my teeth, etc...my mind decided it wanted to be awake even though my body disagreed. So, as I lay there listening to the two arguing...the noise(s) of what sounded like a grizzly with a nasty cold...confounded my purpose even more. Blast! Poor sick Grizzly, he couldn't help it.

I decided to try it out in Miss B's bed...it's a queen and much quieter...or so I thought. That girl kicked, rolled, twisted, turned, thrashed, flailed and flung. Then she started speaking in some strange alien-like language that consisted of guttural noises and clicks coming from the back of her throat. These combined with several outbursts of "Oh!", "No!", and so on...further twisted my dilemma. I lay there, staring at the back of my eyelids awaiting sweet sleep and wondering what to do...go back to the soothing sounds of a slumbering grizzly, or stay with the jabbering, chattering alien-child. Neither seemed welcoming...and I couldn't think of where to go. Thus the rock, the hard spot and me in between. Before I gave up and clamored to the couch, I must've dozed off until a couple of hours later when Q woke up for a snack...Jeeez. What a night! I wish I would have recorded it...and I would have if I hadn't been so exhausted.

And I must give a big thank you to all of you who helped me stay focused so that I could finally reach my goal. It has taken years of motivation, strong will and determination...but I did it. I actually did it. It was hard. It was a strain and sometimes I didn't think I'd make it. But succeed I did!

I kept my hair long...thanks for helping me be strong. (rhyme intended.)

It hasn't been this long since High School...check it.

Oh, and just to clarify about my previous post, I didn't write all that to show how productive I am, I just started writing all I did one day...and was surprised to see what I accomplished....you should try it!

  3. Glad you got a little sleep at least. I hate being awake at night...it stinks. I count backwards from 100 over and over again until I can fall asleep and sometimes that does not work, so I just end up tossing and turning trying to wake Thomas up...too bad he never gives in.

  6. LOL! Sorry about your rough night. You definitely need a good night's sleep with all of the running around you do (nailing Jell-O to a tree and such) each day. Your bedrooms are very fancy! Good grief, I'm jealous!
