Hiking and Some Tidbits

We had a delightful hike the other day...it was a nice day...the kids had a good time...etc.

And even though it looks as if we are the only ones clamoring among the rocks, it seemed as if half the city were hiking with us...I just happened to snap this perfectly aligned/no strangers picture.

Me and Q...he's been pulling this face constantly of late...so blasted cute.

And just a shot of Q in his ride...although at this moment he wasn't too happy with the confined spaces.

And the Tidbits as promised for my good friend Tonya!

Favorite TV Shows:
1. The Office, although the tense situations sometimes give me anxiety for the fictional characters...
2. Frasier and the following are oldies but goodies...
3. Keeping up Appearances (BBC)
4. The Cosby Show
5. Charles in Charge
6. Saved by the Bell
7. Wings
8. and.....hmmm....gotta be....Boy Meets World (thanks to my sisters)

8 Things I did a couple days ago:
1. Edited pictures, updated my blog, answered and wrote emails, helped Miss B download and look at pictures from her field trip to the Zoo... you know, the computer stuff.

2. Went to the park with the fam and tried to fly a kite unsuccessfully, although I seemed to be quite entertaining to one little girl who couldn't keep her eyes off of me running a muck through the park in frustration.

3. Made some fabulous beef tacos with beef from my own stash of self-canned beef...I know, I know...very cool... and homemade Mexican rice...Woweee! (if I say so myself...)

4. Straightened the house and supervised the offspring on their part of straightening.

5. Laundry...does it ever end?

6 Edited more pictures...does that ever end?

7. Worked on a logo for someone.

8. Looked at the amazing eyes Dennis has...sheesh!

8 Things I look forward to:
1. Showers, they are the best.

2. The hilarious things that come out of my kidlet's mouths, and the sweet ones too...like, "I love you and your spaghetti sauce, Mom!"~ Dennis

3. Q growing some hair on his noggin

4. Going on road trips and chattin' with the hubs...it's always the best chattin' time.

5. Good family discussions where the kids are learning, we're all having fun and no one's crying...very rare...but so great!

6. When it's warm enough to swim at night so we don't have to worry about sunburns...I fear skin cancer in the worst way.

7. Spending time with good friends and/or family, especially when there is lots of laughing. (It's cheesy I know, but true.)

8. Finishing my blog book for 2007.

8 Favorite Restaurants: In no particular order, cuz I just love food.

1. Fogo de Chao...authentic Brazilian steakhouse. I love the cheese rolls, polenta, fried bananas, and the bacon-wrapped filet...oh and Tres Leche for dessert! Yummo!

2. Taste of Saigon for the Pho and amazing fried rice!!!

3. Lolo's Chicken and Waffles...best fried chicken and waffles you could ask for (yes on the same plate, but you can eat them separately). Plus, they have great cheesy grits, mac and cheese and lemonade!

4. Pasta Factory...awww the memories. Fettuccine Alfredo and bread sticks.

5. Oklahoma Joe's- thee best barbecue in Kansas City, hands down.

6. Amuse Bouche....oh boy, the Meatloaf Sandwich, Quiche, Pork Panini, Blueberry Bread Pudding, all the soups, Panna Cotta, oh pretty much everything.

7. Cafe Rio- Pork Salad, Chicken Tortilla Soup, Tres Leche

8. Twenty-five Main...Salmon Pesto, and the cupcakes!! Awww, heavenly. And now I'm hungry.

8 Things on My Wish List:
1. Go to Greece...I have always wanted to...plus I LOVE gyros and baklava...shoot, I forgot about that on my food list....

2. Have my kids (and myself for that matter) grow up to be well-mannered, happy, successful, confident, tidy, humble, respectful, righteous, citizens who work hard, serve others, love family and in turn have great families of their own. Did I miss anything ?

3. To can more chicken and beef in the near future...it is soooo HANDY, but not very pretty.

4. To get my awesome invention idea patented and created...how cool would that be?

5. Grow some yummy, outrageous tomatoes and eat them on Grandma's Sycamore white bread with mayo and a dash of S&P...or maybe just borrow some from Dad. ( I know, it always comes back to food.)

6. World Peace

7. To never have another tooth problem...........ever.

8. And last while we're wishing, I wish for the weeds in my yard to disappear.

  2. Oh, wow, Lou! After that list of food, I'm hungry, too!! YUM is right! Fun stuff. And speaking of swimming at night, remember that one time we went out to Quail Lake and went swimming and it was totally dark and we were worried about getting eaten by the Loch Ness Monster??

  5. Ok I think I am all caught up now and have so much to comment but will keep it short. Love Q's cheeks, is it bad to say both of them? You look great in your anniv. picture and I am amazed at how great you look in a hat (hike) I can't pull that off. Also I love baklava maybe I should come to Greece with you so I can gain 20 pounds in baklava alone, I think I did that at Christmas time once...that stuff is so good. Anyways this is long now and I'm sure I missed a few things that I wanted to comment on. I'll have to catch you later.
