The Fourth Weekend

We spent the weekend of the fourth in Idaho with barbecues and picnics and all the wonderful sides that accompany them...(there was this stellar fruit salad with pudding mix and cool whip and yogurt and mixed berries...oh so delightful).  We also enjoyed amazingly cool weather (while watching fireworks, we had to use jackets and bundle in blankets.......in JULY.....we Arizonians couldn't quite wrap our heads around that),  as well as awesome fireworks on the lawn and all around, lots of chit-chatting and lots of good times.  Family is the best.  It was so good to see some of my extended family that I don't get to see very often.  The long 16-ish hour drive was worth it.

Mr. C got shot in the neck with an airsoft gun right before this picture...and I had just examined his battle wound.  He said it hurt pretty bad.

The Birthday Boy...yesiree his birthday is July 4th.  Isn't that fun?!

My nephew and my brother spent a few special moments pulling dorky faces with each other for our endless enjoyment.

These two were our fireworks inspectors.

And it was all fun and games...until the ripping and tearing began and then we had to fire them. They were kind of disgruntled after that.

Check it out.  Dennis thoroughly enjoyed tromping around in moon boots, er snow boots.

It was simply sublime.

  1. We had to bundle up on the 4th, too. -We were up in SLC. It was a weird experience. I am used to sweating my guts out the whole day, but it was actually unseasonably cool. I brought all the wrong clothes. :~S

Looks like you are having a fun summer, Lou! I miss you!
