I had a great session with a Senior the other night (and by Senior, I mean the High School type, not the retired type...I've heard of some confusion on that point lately), but first I have some news...
I will be in the Salt Lake City area in late April/early May and am scheduling mini sessions for families, kids...whatever you want. They will be $150 for 10-15 pictures in both Color and BW on a CD. We will most likely be downtown in an alley. Email me for more information at yellowpearphotography@yahoo.com. I have limited availability.
Also, I am thinking of offering a free mini session to one lucky SLC winner. Stay tuned for more information. Like Yellow Pear on Facebook to watch for updates.
Alright, now that we have the business part over...let's move on to the photos.
I just have one thing to say. Shooting in the middle of what you think is a fairly less-traveled road, can be a bit tense, ie. "OK, get in the road, sit on the chair, look relaxed and do it FAST!" "AAAACK! Just kidding, another car is coming, get off the road!" "Whoa, that one's really cruisin'...shake a leg!" "No sir, we don't need any help, we are just a bunch of crazies trying to take pictures in the very middle of the road. Thanks though." (Seriously I think we had three different vehicles stop to see if we were okay. Quite hospitable of them actually.) And then I kept saying over and over and over, "Are you sure no one's coming from behind me, you're SURE!? I feel so exposed. I can't see a thing." *turning around for the bajillionth time to double check* To which Spencer replied, "I don't know, you're blocking my view!" Scary business. That's living on the edge people. At least for this stay-at-home mom of four.
But it did make for some cool shots.
We snapped a few with him and his mom (who is a long time friend of mine and Dennis' beloved Preschool teacher). It was hilarious and the conversation was even better.
"AHHHHH, quit squishin' my face....you're messing up my hair....just be normal!"
Or something like that.
In SLC- I love the brick wall by Bennihanas. It's awesome... and ENORMOUS. You could try that maybe. Wish you were coming to SGU.

ReplyDeleteAnd LOVE the senior pix! The 'lonely' road is awesome :O)
ReplyDeleteSeriously?! Here I've been waiting for years, and you are coming one month after we move across the country. I will just have to continue to be jealous of my sister's Christmas cards. Too bad.
ReplyDeleteThat was so much fun! Thanks for that adventure...haha! I really like the blue sweater on that wall! His eyes just stand out! I still can't believe he's graduating but I'm super glad you're a part of it!!! You once again blow my mind with your incredible talent. You're like the camera whisperer...hahaha. Can't wait to see some more.
ReplyDeleteUmmm... We're poor. So can I be your SLC winner, or your SLC pity party? :) Jk, I would love love love family pix! Let me know, or I'll just talk to Marce about when you'll be around... Even if we don't do pix for us, I'd like to stop and say hello!
