On Turning Nine

What a kid.  Sometimes I feel like he gets lost in the hustle and bustle of it all.  He is such a good boy.  I swear he came built-in with a moral compass.  He is (usually) quick to do his chores, notices when others are sad and is easily bribed...er, I mean motivated.  I can always count on him for honesty, responsibility and hard work.  He's a goof, he LOVES to read and play any and every kind of video game, and he has thee best laugh.  He is a bit of a picky eater and has remarked on several occasions that he wished he had different taste buds...ones that liked more things.  Also, he's turning nine here in a couple of days.  Of course, I can't believe it.  

I thought I'd conduct a small interview with the fellow to document his life as of now.

What do you love to do most?  Read.  No, play Blazing Angels...no, AND.  BOTH.  Read AND play Blazing Angels.  What's Blazing Angels?  A Wii game where you get to fly WWII fighter planes.

What do you want to be when you grow up?  An orthodontist.  Why?  Because they get a lot of money.  Do you like teeth or something?  Well, I just wanna have enough money just in case.  Like a fire or something.  Just to be safe.

Do you know it will take a lot of years to be an orthodontist?  Yes.  It's worth it I think.  And the first time I get my paycheck, I'll be able to pay off what I borrowed.  I'll be rich, rich, RICH!  Oh and I can take care of my family too.

What do you like to do at recess?  Play Wall Ball or Roof Ball.  What about Floor Ball?  What's that?!  I don't know... you have Wall Ball and Roof Ball, what about Floor Ball?  We have Grass Ball and stuff like that but not Floor Ball.  I knew it.

Who is your hero?  My family and all my relatives.  Why?  They support me.

What do you get in trouble for the most?  Reading.  Reading when I'm not supposed to.

What is your favorite thing about being a kid?  You have more fun than your parents.

Do you like any girls?  NO!!  

Who are your favorite authors?  Roald Dahl, Rick Riordan, Frank W. Dixon and the author of the Geronimo Stilton books.

What are your favorite books?  The Kane Chronicles,  Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, Danny, the Champion of the World,  Both of Roald Dahl's Autobiographies, Geronimo Stilton books, The Hardy Boys, The Count of Monte Cristo (Great Illustrated Classics version) and School of Fear.  And many, many others.

Do you like to tease your siblings?  Only my sister.

 

What's your favorite chore?  Washing the couches.  (we have microsuede couches and when they get all goobery and crusty...you just wipe them down with a damp rag)  What's your least favorite chore?  Socks.  I try to avoid them because they're so not fun.  They're hard.

Anything else you want to say?  My wish is to get a Nerf Stampede Blaster.  And are we done yet??
