Remember how I said my really great friend (who moved far away from me) came to visit recently? She stayed for a week and we had a blast. And I still need to show you my cupboards she helped me with...but I need to add knobs and clean my kitchen and take a picture (all of which I'm too lazy to do right at the moment).
Anyway, we snapped some photos of her four kiddos one night, very quickly, and just as the sun was setting. It was a scorching hot night (as they all are lately) and so we were quick but successful. Although from some unknown reason, Q threw a massive fit as we were trying to leave. He flopped down in the middle of the asphalt parking lot and refused to get up. He said he wanted to stay there and didn't want to leave, although why anyone would want to lay on a scorching hot, filthy (and boring) parking lot rather than go to their air-conditioned home full of snacks, toys and a comfy bed...is totally beyond me. Maybe the heat confused him...but we finally wrestled him kicking and screaming into his seat and drove home. And then he fell asleep immediately.
The black and white photo with the two girls was totally candid as I was getting my settings ready, etc. The girls posed for me at the last second and I love it. The deep drama of one and the big toothy grin from the other.
This little guy is only one day younger than Q. His mother and I hung out in the hospital together in our labor and delivery gowns and slippers and viewed each other's babes. It's a fun memory. We were hoping the two tots would be good friends, as they haven't seen each other for about a year. They hit it off swimmingly.
I love all the photos, you did a great job! I love the big wooden door!
ReplyDeletePshah. You are ANYTHING but lazy. Those cupboards and cleaning can wait! :)
ReplyDeleteOh we all have those days. I think someone even wrote a song about that even your grandmama sings under her breath, "we're not gonna take it! NO! We're not gonna take it! We're not gonna take it ANYMORE!" and then we take a nap...
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to mention your friend lying on the sidewalk the whole time having a fit of her own and not being any help at all then going home and falling asleep herself. Man that was a fun week though, wasn't it? Thanks again, love Rains and that last one of Allis. How is it that our little 5 year old girls are turning into young ladies?
