The Desert is Breathtaking (And Hot)

It was 110 degrees when we took these photographs.  I stared almost straight into the sun the entire time.  Needless to say we were QUITE toasty.  I had sunglasses on an off my forehead in an attempt to save my eyes and then take pictures at the same time.  We had cold water and paper towels for blotting.  But oh how glorious are the photos.  It was worth the heat, the  sweat, the burned corneas.  Goodness how beautiful they turned out.  I'm so very glad we braved the scorching desert, and possible snakes (I was afraid, very afraid we would come upon some unfriendly snake).  And I thought we would be the only crazies out in that unnatural weather, but no...two hikers came upon our little spot.  Why would anyone choose to hike in those conditions?  Why?!

And what a trooper of a bride. She had on some killer heels and even managed to hike to our location in them... on rocky paths lined with cactus and weeds.  She was amazing.  Actually so was the groom, he was in pants and a jacket...for Pete's sake.  Not your typical scorching-summer-day wear.

  1. You all ought to have your butts kicked for doing such masochistic things! However, the pictures are indeed lovely. I especially like that bride's dress... so simple and yet elegant.

  2. What beautiful backdrop that scorching desert is! And what beautiful bride and groom - I see no hint of sweat! I love the bride's hair! Makes me want to grow mine out if only it would look just like that! The 2nd pic with the flare and lovely glow remind me of Pride and Prejudice! The most recent one, not the A&E version. So romantic.

  4. I can't help myself - I MUST comment... these are GOR-GEOUS! I love seeing the bride looking so grown-up & angelic. She was inspired to choose the location. Worth whatever had to be endured. These are going to be pinned like crazy. Oh, and her bouquet is fantastic!!
