Beauty and the Beast

I just had to share this picture of my sister and brother.  She looks sweet and he is a nut.  He loves photo bombs.  It is one of his favorite pastimes I think.  He lives for the best opportunities.  I believe this is some of his best work.  

 

I have one brother and two sisters.  And gosh we have fun.  We quote movies, we tell inside jokes and reminisce about this or that.  I don't think our spouses quite understand us.  When my husband and I started dating, I would bring him home for dinner and my siblings and I would giggle and tell stories and laugh hysterically.  My husband would sit quietly and finally one of us asked why he wasn't having fun.  He replied with, "I'm laughing on the inside..." to which we all burst out laughing.   It's been one of our favorite stories ever since and it gets re-quoted frequently.  I don't think the kids have heard it really and if they have, they wouldn't have understood since it was before their time. One day, Miss B and I were watching a sob-inducing show and she didn't even squeeze out one little tear.  I questioned her cold-heartedness in between choking, hiccup sobs and wiping away mascara streaks.  Imagine my surprise when she replied with a straight face, "I'm crying on the inside."  And she didn't even know her father had once uttered similar words many years ago.  Honest.  Isn't that uncanny.  Genes are amazing.

I'm wondering where else I could use that line...."I'm doing laundry/making dinner/running errands/cleaning the house/mopping the floor... on the inside."

I also hope my kids are good friends with each other when they grow up.  Plus I wish I lived closer to at least one of them.
