The wonderful citrus orchard right near us is open again and we ventured out to pick citrus the Saturday before Christmas. It was a glorious winter day in the desert. So beautiful. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and picked all kinds of citrus from pummelos and tangelos, to grapefruit and mandarins.
We found these shriveled and awful looking mandarins, but we did as we were told and tried them anyway and they were absolutely delightful...so sweet and delicious! Wow. Amazing. What a lesson in not judging a book by its cover. You peel off the ugly outer shell to find a perfect miniature mandarin beneath. What a find.
When I come and visit you, I should very much like for you to take me here. :)
