My sister and sweet niece came to visit a bit ago and even though they were only here for a few days and we all got sick for most of them, we still managed to squeeze in a few fun activities.
We've wanted to tour Cerretta's Chocolate Factory for the EIGHT years we've lived here. Seriously, how did eight years slip by? That's depressing kind of. Anyway, I finally made it there with Miss B (who was off school for the day), Q and my sister and niece. And it was soo AMAZING. Obviously Q was beside himself as chocolate making is his future profession of choice. He almost had a heart attack when he saw all of the conveyor belts and machines in motion. He was just about completely speechless...which rarely happens. We learned how the bottom of chocolate-covered pretzels get coated. We watched how they make the centers for truffles and saw a big batch of caramel being stirred. We even met the owner and Q proclaimed he would never, EVER change his mind about chocolate. It was very cute. And of course we sampled plenty of delicious chocolates. I highly recommend visiting a chocolate factory if you have one close by. Memories will be made.
After that, we had a picnic in a historic farm/park and then did a bit of antique shopping to end the beautifully perfect day.
*Q was very thrilled to find a desk just like his*
It was so fun to have them visit and now we miss them terribly. My niece is so cute and sassy. I love it and now I really wished we lived by family. 'Twould be so fun.
I love it when kids are speechless. It's a beautiful thing. :~D
